Welcome to Sikkim Trekking & Travel Services, Sikkim’s oldest adventure travel company. It was founded by the visionary Yeshi Dorjee, who is a key figure in the evolution of tourism in Sikkim. Establishing his company in 1978, he is credited with being a trailblazer in promoting the state of Sikkim as a prime destination for trekking and adventure tourism. His deep love for the mountains and culture of Sikkim, coupled with his entrepreneurial spirit, laid the foundation for what would later become one of the most well-regarded travel agencies in the region.

Not only did he start his own company, but Mr. Dorjee also played an instrumental role in the larger development of the tourism industry in Sikkim. As the founding President of the Travel Agents Association of Sikkim (TAAS), he was at the forefront of advocating for the regulation and growth of the travel and tourism sector. His leadership and commitment to the region's tourism ecosystem helped to put Sikkim on the map, attracting trekkers, nature enthusiasts, and adventure seekers from around the globe.
Sikkim Trekking & Travel Service is proud to have been the first in many moments in the history of Sikkim Tourism, including organizing the first ever trek in the Singhalila region of West Sikkim for members of the Italian Alpine Club, welcoming the first foreigners to Rinchenpong Village, and organizing the trek to Green Lake in North Sikkim for Mr. George Band, the first to summit Mt. Kanchendzonga.
In recent years, Sikkim Trekking & Travel Service has rebranded itself as Roam Beyond, expanding its offerings to include Bhutan and the Northeastern states of India. The company is now dedicated to exploring untouched and unexplored regions of India, from the misty hills of Arunachal Pradesh to the tea gardens of Darjeeling.
Today, Mr. Dorjee continues to guide the company in an advisory role as the Chairman of Roam Beyond, with his son, Pema Tsewang Topgyal, taking over as the new generation of leadership. Pema, a graduate in engineering, now leads the company with a focus on eco-tourism and adventure activities in Sikkim and the Northeast.
